Frequently Asked Questions

What is Ice Patch Hollow?

Ice Patch Hollow is a make-believe village in the Antartica where Joey the Penguin and his friends live and play. Created through a story that was self-published by local author, Brian Hiltz, Ice Patch Hollow was designed with children in mind so that they could come to a fantasy world where fun and exercise awaits all.

Where is Ice Patch Hollow located?

Ice Patch Hollow is located at the Sunnyside Mall in Bedford at 1595 Bedford Highway Road.

Do I have to wear socks if I am just supervising my child?

Yes. For health and safety reasons, socks must be worn at all times if you are on the playground. You can wear your shoes only if you stay within the dining and admissions area, and the bathroom and party rooms area. Read our full playground rules.

How much is admission?

We offer two All-Day Pass price points for toddlers between the ages of 1 and 4 and children aged 5 to 12, and Party Room bookings for special occasions and birthdays. Adults and infants are always admitted free of charge when visiting with children or a party group. Special exceptions can be made for children over 12 years of age, just contact us prior to booking and we’ll do out best to accommodate you!

What age ranges do you allow at the playground?

We allow children between 1 and 12 years old to participate at the playground, and this limit applies to children attending parties in our reserved party rooms. Special exceptions can be made for children over 12 years of age, just contact us beforehand and we’ll do out best to accommodate you! Adults and infants are always admitted free of charge when visiting with children or a party group.

Can I just drop in to play or do I have to book a reservation?

Walk-ins are always welcome and accepted as long as we are open. Our play hours are 10:00 am to 5:00 pm Monday to Friday, and 9:30 am to 6:00 pm on Saturday and Sunday.

Can I reserve a room for a birthday party?

Absolutely! We offer 3 private party rooms that can be booked in 2-hour slots daily. All bookings require at least 24 hours notice. You can find more details and pricing on our Book Party page.

How long can I stay to play in the playground?

Admissions are an all-day pass. If you purchase a pass, you can stay for as long as you want until closing. If you’ve reserved a party room and want to play after the 2 hour timeframe, please feel free to do so but we ask that you leave the room when your time is up as it may be booked for the next party.

Do you offer any group rates or discounts?

Yes, we do offer group rates. Please contact us with details about your group and its size so we can arrange a discount for you. We also offer specials which you can find listed on in Pricing & Specials.

Can I drop my child off and go run errands?

No. Unfortunately, we do not have the ability to offer that service yet. We are considering it for the future, however. Read our full playground rules.

Do you allow outside food and beverages at the playground?

We allow guests who have reserved party rooms with us to bring food and drink (and cake!) with them to their parties. We ask those with party rooms to keep all outside food and beverages in their reserved areas. For walk-ins joining us at the playground, we have snacks and drinks available as concessions but please do not bring outside food unless you have booked a party room with us. We have limited tables and seating so we need to reserve this area for customers purchasing our inside snacks.

What rules do visitors need to follow when at the playground?

Please read our full list of Playground Rules for more information. Customers booking a party room are required to accept the terms of service outlined on our Policies & Conditions page.

How often do you clean the playground?

The playground is cleaned daily, both during quiet moments during the day and a big clean is performed after closing.

Do you offer free WiFi?

Yes, we do. Simply ask an employee for the complimentary WiFi password.
